Red Chile Spiced Black Bean Burgers - Easy Burger Recipe
Ingredients:
1 can black beans (you can also use pinto, kidney or other bean of your choice)
1 ½ cups cooked cauliflower
1-tablespoon olive oil
1 celery stalk diced
½ bell pepper (any color) diced
½ of a yellow onion diced
½ cup of Trader Joe’s falafel mix
½ cup of panko bread crumbs
1 flax egg (2 tablespoons ground flax with 6 tablespoons water mixed together and set for 5 minutes)
1-teaspoon siracha chile sauce
¼-teaspoon worcheschire sauce
1-teaspoon NM red chile powder
1-teaspoon salt
Canola oil spray
Directions:
Empty beans into a colander and rinse thoroughly, set aside. Put cauliflower into 2 cups boiling salted water and cook for 10 minutes or until the cauliflower is very tender, set aside to cool once cooked. Meanwhile dice celery, onion and bell pepper and sauté in olive oil for 5 minutes. Empty the mix into a bowl to cool. Add beans, cauliflower, sauté mix to a large mixing bowl, and mash completely with a potato masher. Now add all other ingredients and mix thoroughly. Cover the mix and let it sit for about ten minutes. Form into 1 inch thick, and 4 inch in diameter patties. This blend makes six burgers. Once the burgers are cooked, they will keep in the refrigerator for 5 days, or in the freezer (in a sealed container) for up to a month.
