Fried Green Chile Strips
Fried Green Chile Strips
Ingredients:
10 roasted NM (you can also use anaheim chile) green chile peeled, stems left on
½ cup unbleached flour
½ cup almond flour
½ tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
1 egg
¾ cup water
Ranch Dipping Sauce:
¾ cup sour cream or greek yogurt
¼ cup milk of your choice
1 tbsp ranch seasoning (I used Trader Joe’s brand)
Directions:
In a medium sized bowl, combine ½ cup unbleached flour, ½ cup almond flour, ½ tsp salt and ½ tsp baking soda. Mix well, then add one egg and ¾ cup water; stir to combine. Heat a cast iron pan, or large pan, and add canola oil to about 1 inch. Batter each of the green chiles and fry on each side for about two minutes, or until golden brown.
For the dipping sauce, blend all ingredients together in a small bowl. Refrigerate for a couple of hours, if possible. Enjoy!
