Green Chile Cheddar Biscuits - Red Lobster Copycat


Ingredients: 


2 cups unbleached all-purpose flour


1 cup shredded cheddar cheese


1 cup chopped NM green chile


1 tablespoon baking powder


1 teaspoon salt


¾ teaspoon onion/garlic salt mix  - ½ onion powder & ½ garlic powder (I used Trader Joe’s onion salt)


⅔ cup milk


⅓ cup butter, softened or melted slightly


1 large egg


Directions: 


Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper, or a silicone mat. Combine the flour, cheddar cheese, baking powder, salt, and onion/garlic mixture in a large bowl. 


Next combine the butter, egg, and milk in another bowl. Add to the dry mixture and stir until just combined. Do not overmix. 


Drop about a ¼ cup measure of the batter onto the baking sheet. Bake for approximately 12 minutes, or until the bottom of the biscuits start to brown slightly. You should yield about 12 large biscuits. Enjoy!
